Corporate teams across the country are taking up the challenge…
What can be done to support those living in crisis and experiencing period poverty?
Hosted by professional facilitators, Share the Dignity ‘Defenders of Dignity’ Challenge includes interactive fast-paced simulation exercises and thought-provoking discussions that promotes teamwork, increased empathy and more open minds. The results?
Since Share the Dignity was first founded in March 2015 by ‘Pad Lady’ Rochelle Courtenay, she and her team of volunteers have collected and distributed over 2.7 million period products across Australia to those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence or suffering extreme financial hardship.
Share the Dignity works in partnership with other charities and community organisations to distribute period products to those in need doing it tough and work to end period poverty in Australia:
They believe that without ending the shame and stigma that clouds periods, we cannot end period poverty so they also advocate for change, working with researchers to explore the issues people experiencing period poverty face and seek to educate people on their realities.
“Share the Dignity has a community of passionate supporters who want to help others. They are the true face of Share the Dignity and their acts of kindness are the moments that change the world.”
Rochelle Courtenay, Founder, Share the Dignity Australia
“Without the support of our amazing volunteers and all the time they generously give us, we would not have been able to help the hundreds of thousands of women and girls across Australia.”
Simon Tolhurst, Chairperson, Share the Dignity Australia
“Sadly there are thousands of women and girls in Australia either experiencing homelessness, financial hardship or victims of violence. This is why the support of corporate groups is so critical.”
Ami Reynolds, Gifts and Giving Manager, Share the Dignity Australia
10-30 people
2 hours face-to-face with interactive activities and team challenges.
Participants will have the opportunity to self-reflect, draw parallels to their team and work environments and consider how their own actions impact others. They will explore the different roles within a team and the importance that each team member has in reaching the end goal. They will be challenged to look at new ideas and how they can use those to improve the world around them.
You'll discover ways the charity serves charities and communities throughout Australia including remote areas of the country supporting women and girls in crisis and help by assembling desperately needed dignity bags of period products that will be distributed by the charity to those most in need.
You'll also get to know your colleagues and have fun whilst increasing your social impact!
If you're looking to expand your team's perspective, challenge your own world view and learn more about one of Australia’s most innovative and collaborative charities, this is the team challenge for you. Your team will participate in an engaging session filled with fun activities and will leave with a fresh outlook on the issues facing society.
