We have learnt from our corporate clients that when they organise a conference, they want to create a ‘wow’ factor and involves us as a way to engage staff and touch their hearts.
What they get from us goes far beyond that and also serves to enlighten their people about the topic, charity and perhaps most surprisingly about their colleagues. This doesn’t come as a surprise to us, as we know that the topics we cover inspire people to open up and share. The group feels safe to explore the topic, and in doing so, most people tend to lean into the topic, step forward and share their views, experience and personal history on the subject.
Certainly, the participants of our events have a great deal of fun, but what makes our events extra special is that the group does more than do a standalone activity to help the charity – they first get to know the charity, understand what the charity does and why and how and who the charity helps. This personalises the activities so they have far more meaning than simply going through the motions of assembling hampers, writing personal messages and making things for others. It makes it deeply personal and real, and they are doing it for someone.
The topics we cover are not light ones, but our session is designed to ease the group into the topics in a nonconfronting way and our facilitators are trained to create a safe space and guide the group through amazing stories of human triumph and in doing so inspire everyone to embrace the topic and their colleagues.
All of our sessions involve multiple activities and have a main activity that gives back. Half of these give-back activities involves shopping for items and putting together hampers of toys or food, welcome kits, care packs, arts & crafts sets.
