Recharging and Revitalising

Whilst most of our bookings, especially with conferences, come from companies, now and then we get the pleasure of hosting a group of teachers and staff from a school or tertiary educational institution.

It is a rare privilege and pleasure to run a session for educators who have the responsibility of teaching future generations of young adults. These are therefore important adults who can ‘influence’ and educate young Australians about the challenges that our Aussie farmers face.
“What I enjoyed most was a chance to work with colleagues in a pressure-free environment.”
Carmel, All Saints Grammar

We ran this session for the staff of All Saints Grammar on the last day of their term. They were clearly tired from the trials and tribulations of their work the previous few months, and we were standing between them and their well deserved school break. Because of this, we were expecting the group to be slow to engage and perhaps even resistant to full participation, preferring to coast out the last few hours of their time until they could clock off.

Nothing could be further from the truth as everyone got into the spirit and the activities brought out their best and competitive nature. By the end of the session, many were disappointed when it was time to go home, and the session had served to refresh their spirits and re-energise the group.

More than that, the session had reminded everyone, including some who openly acknowledged being a little jaded, of their purpose and why they had become teachers in the first place – to make a difference to future generations and help our communities prosper and be a better place for Australia’s current and future youth.

It’s a real gift to be able to ignite the spirit of giving in others and see how a shared focus and purpose on a charity such as Farm Angels can serve to unite people behind a common goal, and how making a difference to others also serves to make a difference to oneself.

“Great team bonding and fun, not boring and meaningful.”

Maria, All Saints

Our sessions are more than team building or team bonding as they provide an emotional bridge of connection between colleagues. As such, our events are clearly more about team building with impact, in terms of how they cultivate company and team culture, morale, and wellbeing, as well as feed and foster staff pride and retention. Plus, the very act of helping another and creating a ripple of change to the communities that our charity partners serve acts as a glue or even cement to bond colleagues together around this shared purpose and meaning.

That’s Team Building with Purpose!

The following link showcases a video of the day that will give you a good idea of what the group experienced and got out of the session, and become Clean Up ‘Change Makers’.
