Sustainable Conferences

When we were asked by Coca-Cola to host one of our sessions for their ASEAN (Asia Pacific, Australia and New Zealand) Conference, it was a big deal.

What made it big was not just that it was for the Coca-Cola company and a regional event, but that this was their first such conference in quite literally years, so they wanted it to be special. On top of that, they asked us to extend our usual standard 3 hour in-person session to a full day and include a physical clean up.

For any company, a conference is important, especially when you are bringing such a diverse group of people together. Add to that the group is coming from different corners of the Continent with different languages and cultures to share. This is why our sessions work so well, as they are structured to create a safe space for everyone to connect.

In all our events, we take your people on a journey to have a better understanding and appreciation of their colleagues, to engage and connect to each other on a deeper level, build stronger lines of respect and trust and unite through a common purpose of learning about a charity and helping them in the session.

In the case of ‘Change Makers’, the program that Coca-Cola ASEAN booked, the morning was all about learning about the charity, the work they do and exploring the topic of sustainability and the waste issue in Australia. Through the various activities, the group were able to deepen their understanding and relationships with their colleagues and identify and share ideas on how they could as individuals and as a group, deliver more sustainable habits and practices at home and at the office, a topic that is very close to the heart of the company.

After lunch, the group went out around the venue in their teams to collect rubbish in the streets, parks and on the beachfront and amassed a sadly sizeable collection of rubbish and items to recycle. From there, the group returned to the venue to share notes, insights and experience and learn who the winning team was that won a special prize from the charity. But, no one left empty-handed as everyone learnt invaluable insights and ideas of how to live in a more sustainable manner.

The following link showcases a video of the day that will give you a good idea of what the group experienced and got out of the session, and become Clean Up ‘Change Makers’.
