Corporate teams across the country are taking up the challenge…
What can be done to help brighten the lives of sick kids?
Hosted by professional facilitators, the Starlight Children’s Foundation ‘Sparklers’ Challenge includes interactive fast-paced simulation exercises and thought-provoking discussions that promote teamwork, increased empathy and more open minds. The results?
For the last 30 years, the charity helps kids of all ages regardless of disability or illness because what happens in childhood lasts a lifetime.
The Starlight Children’s Foundation knows that happiness matters to kids facing the pain, fear and stress of serious injury as it doesn’t just impact their health. It can turn their whole life upside down, causing them to miss out on so much with their family, friends, school and just living their life. They need the social and emotional support that lets them be a child.
This is where Starlight comes in, by using play, social connection and creativity to support children and young people in some of their toughest times and to positively change their healthcare experience by:
In addition to all these, Captain Starlight travels to remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community health clinics to provide positive distraction for kids through song, dance, games and storytelling and help boost their participation and community engagement in the healthcare system.
“Starlight Children’s Foundation would not be the place that it is today, supporting every children’s hospital and hundreds of remote communities across Australia without the support of corporate Australia. We truly appreciate and value these special relationships.”
Louise Baxter, CEO, Starlight Children’s Foundation

10-30 people online
10-100 people face-to-face
2 hours online or 3 hours face-to-face group sessions with interactive activities and team challenges.
Participants will have the opportunity to self-reflect, draw parallels to their team and work environments and consider how their own actions impact others. They will gain an invaluable insight into the powers of positive psychology and explore the different roles within a team and the importance that each team member has in reaching the end goal. They will be challenged to look at new ideas and how they can use those to improve the world around them.
You'll learn all about the ways the charity distracts sick kids from their illness, pain and treatment and helps them feel happier and more in control and less anxious about hospital and their treatment. The group will also take part in a team building activity to put together Sparkle packs for sick kids to surprise and delight them. Furthermore, you’ll brainstorm ways to support sick kids and discover ways how you can help the charity in their work.
Plus, you’ll get to know your colleagues and have fun whilst increasing your social impact!
In addition to the education and contribution to the charity via the Sparkle pack team building exercise, we are proud to make a financial contribution too. The charity will receive 50% of the net profits from each session - a minimum of $500 plus GST.
If you're looking to expand your team’s perspective, challenge your own world view and learn more about this incredible home-grown charity, this is the team challenge for you. Your team will participate in an engaging session filled with fun activities and will leave with a fresh outlook on the challenges facing children coping with a serious illness, disability or hospital treatment and be inspired by the Starlight world and the amazing impact the charity has on the lives of sick kids.
